Meet Olivia Lani

We have a new member of the family. Thanks to Team Hoopes in Florida, grand child #3 arrived on Paul's birthday - August 5.

What a neat little bundle. She came in at 6 lbs. 12 oz. and stretched out at 19 inches.

Unfortunately, we were not present at the birth, just like Jackson's and Rylie's arrivals. But I was working early enrollment at the Blackwell Elementary School site and Paul was celebrating his 76th birthday. I think he lost his keys somewhere on the road between our house and downtown Blackwell. Finally, by process of elimination, the keys were found off the road in an abandoned field where he had dropped them by making an emergency stop in the field. Go figure. Anyway, it was not a good day for us, but the rest of the family was experiencing joy and celebration at the arrival of Olivia.

This year green bananas and bottled water were the only refreshment. Unlike last year when bags of food were passed out to everyone.

Sure everyone was grateful for what they received.

We spent the last two days visiting church sites. I really loved the entire trip and places we saw. I learned so much about Far West and the history of the saints.

A General Store, Deseret Book Store, and a tourist attraction privately owned on the road in Far West. It was a Sunday morning so nothing was open and no one was around except Brother Joseph and Paul.

A Community of Christ meeting house where meetings were being held since it was a Sunday morning. I later read that this site or maybe the same building was the home of Joseph and Emma Smith when they lived in Far West.

A picnic area in front of the fenced Far West temple lot. It was a cool day and two families came for a picnic. They were from Oregon and Pennsylvania.
